How to Become a Driving Instructor in Birmingham?
As an applicant aiming to become the best driving instructor in Birmingham, you will have to cover three rigorous ADI tests. Our driving school has designed the training course to help you qualify for these tests. We have it on us to provide you with all the needed materials and knowledge. This is why we maintain a 93% pass rate. The ADI Tests have been categorised into three parts:
ADI Test Part 1
First, you need to arrive for the ADI training test in two parts – the driving instructor theory test and a hazard perception test. For the theory test, there are 100 multiple-choice questions. Within the test, four bands apply, and you must secure 80% marks. You will be allocated 1½ hours for completing the test. You need an overall pass mark of 85% for this part of the test.
In the hazard perception test, there will be 14 video clips. Out of a possible 75, the pass mark is 57. An additional 20 minutes will be allocated for completing the hazard perception test.
You can take these tests many times, as they will be useful to you. The training includes the theory and hazard perception sections of the ADI test via online Zoom training, a hazard
perception kit for approved driving materials and reading materials, and the DVSA theory test.
ADI Test Part 2
Next comes the driving and eyesight test. Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency Supervising Examiner conducts this test. The test lasts an hour. As the applicant, you will have to demonstrate your driving abilities and how well you can maneuver the car safely and keep it under control. Only six minor errors and no serious faults can be forgiven as a qualifying metric. You can take this test up to three times.
ADI Test Part 3
The Part 3 test aims to assess your ability to instruct and whether your instructions help a learner learn to drive efficiently. The driving examiner will conduct the Part 3 exam by observing how you are delivering a normal 1-hour lesson. The examiner will mark you on other factors, including Risk Management, Lesson Planning, and Teaching and Learning Strategies. You are allowed to take the test up to three times.
We have designed our flexible ADI training to meet all your other work commitments. The ADI Part 3 training course comprises in-car one-to-one tuition under the supervision of a DVSA ORDIT-registered trainer, along with online Zoom training at zero additional charge.
